The Chest Pattern
Something happened this year that you handled beautifully.
Handled. Not felt.
The pattern
The chest is where the unfinished lives. Moments that needed an hour got a minute. Losses that needed a season got a weekend. The feeling didn't object, it just stayed, settling in as a weight you notice at red lights and in elevators and can never quite name.
It has a name. We call it the "Keep Moving" pattern, the fourth of five places where what you didn't have time to feel waits for you to have time.
A quick check
— Is there a heaviness in your chest right now that has no current cause?
— Can you name the last thing you fully felt, start to finish?
— Did a specific moment just come to mind?
That's the one.
Where to begin
The full chapter on the chest that settled there, why it stayed, and the practice for giving it somewhere to go, is in The Body Keeps Receipts. This page noticed it. The chapter makes room for it → Ebook page
Not sure if this is your pattern? There are four others. Two minutes tells you which one is yours → Quiz
"YOU MIGHT RECOGNIZE THIS IF:"
Sit or lie back and let your arms rest at your sides, palms up.
Notice what changes.
Some people find the position surprisingly comfortable. Others find it unfamiliar.
Pay attention to the front of your chest, your shoulders, and your breath.
You do not need to change anything. Just notice what your body does when there is nothing to hold.
"The Oil"
Quiétude Solace is used at the sternum and across the chest. The aromatic profile is designed for the state underneath the chest pattern, the vigilance, the low-grade readiness that never fully releases. Apply slowly. Breathe through it. Let the scent be the only thing you track for 30 seconds.
